Frequently Asked Questions
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 2:00pm until 6:00pm and check-out is by 10:00am. Early check-in or late check-out may be available on request. If you’re arriving later, please let us know your estimated arrival time and we’ll arrange self check-in with room instructions sent ahead of time. Please contact us directly and we will try our best to help.
What is your cancellation policy?
For Flexible rates, cancellations up to 2 days before the booked date incur no fee. Thereafter the first night’s stay may be charged. If no cancellation is made, the total amount for the booked accommodation will be charged.
Is breakfast included?
Yes. A complimentary continental buffet breakfast featuring Nelson produce is included with every room booked directly with us.
Is parking included?
Yes, off-street parking is included free of charge for all guests.
Is WiFi included?
Yes, high-speed WiFi is included in every room, along with Sky Sport and Netflix.
How far is Harbourside Nelson from the city centre?
Harbourside Nelson is approximately a 15 minute stroll along the beautiful Maitai River Walk to the Nelson city centre.
How far is Harbourside Nelson from the Airport?
We are a 15 minute drive from Nelson Airport. We can arrange a taxi pickup or dropoff if required.
Do you have accessible rooms?
Yes, our Courtyard One Bedroom unit (Room 2) has disabled access, with a disabled shower as well.
Do you allow pets?
Sorry, no pets.
Do rooms have kitchen facilities?
Most rooms include a microwave, toaster, fridge and kettle with in-room tea, coffee and biscuits. Our one-bedroom apartments include fuller kitchen facilities, including a cooktop or stove. See individual room pages for details.
What dining options are nearby?
Harbourside Nelson is right next door to the Anchor Restaurant & Bar, which has local seafood and steak options with marina views. We’re a 15 minute walk or a short drive from Nelson city centre, which has a wide variety of restaurants and cafes. Let us know what you like and we can suggest some of our favourite places.
Is smoking allowed in rooms?
All rooms are non-smoking. A cleaning fee applies if this is not observed.
Are there laundry facilities?
Yes, there is a washing machine and dryer for guest use for a small fee.
Do you cater for cyclists?
Yes, we have secure bike racks undercover, with security cameras. There are washdown facilities and a bike stand available. There are also laundry facilities for washing cycle clothing.
Is there EV charging?
Not yet, but we can arrange for an extension cord plugin — just ask us. There are Tesla and ChargeNet chargers close by in the city centre.
What cleaning products do you use?
We clean all touch surfaces with natural, environmentally friendly products rather than harsh commercial cleaners. If you have a sensitivity or allergy to particular fragrances or ingredients, let us know when booking or at check-in and we’re happy to accommodate — just ask.
What is your environmental and sustainability policy?
We take our environment and sustainability responsibilities seriously. We use natural or environmentally friendly cleaning products, recycle all glass, plastic and cardboard, avoid single use plastics and support renewable energy suppliers. We have bike facilities for guests who prefer to ride rather than drive.
Do you have cots for toddlers?
Yes, we have a cot for children.
Is there luggage storage available?
Yes, we can store luggage securely in our office for a few days if you are doing the Great Taste cycle tour or hiking the Abel Tasman track.
